Motion for the <br />same item should be - Motion by Gamec, seconded by Reimann. <br /> <br />Page 5, Item 9, should read - It was decided to get a cost figure <br />"and a design layout" from the City Engineer. <br /> <br />Page 5, Administrator's Report, Motion regarding letter to M~¢CC <br />add at end of motion "until 201 Program is completed". <br /> <br />Motion by Muller, seconded by Mickelson to approve the minutes of <br />May ~, 1978, as corrected. <br /> <br />5 Aye <br /> <br />Letters & Communications <br /> <br />Letter from John Clawson, Representative of House, thanking <br />Council for the invitation to attend previous meeting. <br /> <br />Letter from James Oberstar regarding fire department equipment <br />acquisition. This letter forwarded to Councilman Reimann, member <br />of Tri City Fire Committee. <br /> <br />Councilman Reimann announced a Tri City Fire Committee to be held <br />this Thursday. <br /> <br />Letter from City of Brooklyn Park regarding a meeting on the Mississ- <br />ippi River "Critical Areas" to be held on May 2~, 1978 at 7:30 p.m. <br />at Brooklyn Park City Hall. Engineer Sha is to check with Pete <br />Raatikka to see if he will attend this meeting on the City's behalf. <br />Items of concern to the City are: 1) the fact that the Critical <br />River designation is inteferring with old established areas along <br />the river in Ramsey. The boundary is broad and doesn't take into <br />consideration the existing developments. 2) There is a conflict <br />between EQC and DNR requirements creating a duplication of effort <br />which seems needless and wasteful. <br /> <br />Mayor Cox said he particularly feels very strongly about the spending <br />of additional monies "State and Local" levels to draft a proposal to <br />consider with our City's plan and in some areas it conflicts v~th the <br />City's plan. <br /> <br />Engineer Sba commented that it is unfortunate, but true, that the <br />Cities that can least afford it get the least help in funding to <br />work on a program such as this. <br /> <br />HUD Small Cities Grant Application. <br /> <br />Mayor Cox said if it is possible for the City to obtain a Federal <br />grant of this nature the City should consider the possibility of <br />a "Youth Center" and feels a preliminary application should be <br />submitted to see if Ramsey would be eligible for such a grant~ <br />He suggested that this proposal be coordinated with the P & R <br />Commission for the following: <br /> <br /> <br />
