Page 2 <br />Council/J~e 26, 1978 <br /> <br /> ~tion by Councilman Reimann, seconded by Councihan Gamec to accept <br />the resignation of Mr. Darrell Jensen from the Park & Recreation Com~aission. <br />A letter expressing the City's appreciation for his service and the fine <br />job he has done is to be sent to Mr. Jensen. <br /> <br />5 Ayes <br /> <br />b. Mr. Michael Kennedy, 7165 163rd Ave. N.W., sent a letter complaining <br /> of excessive noise which is being created by the St. Anthony Gun Club <br /> and mini bikes operating in his area. He feels it is an invasion of the <br /> peace and tranquility of the neighborhood. ~. Kennedy is seeking <br /> Council help in how this noise could be dealt with. <br /> <br />Mayor Co× suggested that this letter be referred to the Gun Club asking <br />for their written comments on how the trees are doing that they were to <br />have planted five years ago and also ask if they are complying with their <br />promise to operate during reasonable times. <br /> <br />l~yor Cox also state8 that the City appreciates the fact that the Gun <br />Club hires youth of the City to operate the Gun Club. <br /> <br />The mini bike problem is referred to the Police Department for investigation. <br /> <br />c. Mark ttadley, Ramsey Community School Director, sent correspondence regarding <br /> the Community School Program. It was noted that the Council will place this <br /> item for review on their July Agenda. Mr. Hadley wants to know what the <br /> Council wants in Community School Programs next year. <br /> <br />A letter from Mr. Robert Hutchinson, Anoka Comuty, regarding changing of <br />the Landfill pond-site location was received in response to a letter the <br />City previously sent asking why no reports regarding leachate have been <br />subEitted as required in conjunction ~ith the licausing of the Landfill. <br />Mr. Hutchinson said this was an oversite and that this has been corrected. <br />However, he would still like to see the pond relocated. <br /> <br />~.~yor Cox commented that the amount of leachate created by the Landfill <br />is quite serious and he asked that a letter be written to Mr. Hutchinson <br />advising him of this and asking how much of an improvement it will be <br />toward the question of liability if the pond were to be relocated. <br /> <br />e. A letter dated 5/9/~8 from the U.S. Dept. of Transportation to Congressnmn <br /> Oberstar and a letter dated 5/22/78 from Congressman 0berstar to Mayor Cox. <br /> Both letters are regarding the Rum River Bridge crossing environmental <br /> impact study. Mayor Cox commented on a meeting that was held with persons <br /> on Federal and State levels. He said the laws governing this process <br /> were created by legislation. He would like a letter prepared and sent to <br /> the legislators regarding the many monies spent on preparing studies on <br /> public use facility for public use with no concern for the private sector <br /> of land for right of way etc. There should be legislation to avoid <br /> additional expense to have studies on already public use land. <br /> <br />OLD BUSINESS <br /> <br />Traprock Commons - Final Plat Approval <br /> <br /> <br />
