Regular CoLn~cil <br /> Pa~e 6 <br />· .OcTober 23~ _1978 <br /> <br /> 9) That the only commercial business's operating in the general area <br />of that proposed by the applicant to be rezoned are those business's which <br />are located in building's existing prior to the Comprehensive Plan amendment. <br /> <br />10) That to permit the proposed use and rezoning request would act as a <br />precedent to other similar commercial uses and rezoning requests and this <br />would not be in conformance with the City's planning objective, and re- <br />quirements as prescribed in the Comprehensive Plan and its amendments. <br /> <br />11) That the area proposed for rezoning is not served by any municipal <br />utilities. <br /> <br />12) That the City Council recently denied a similar business rezoning re- <br />quest for the property South of 167th and West of Highway 47. <br /> <br />13) That the City Council received and reviewed a written petition <br />signed by some 400 individuals. <br /> <br />14) That the City Council is well aware that its Comprehensive Plan and <br />implementing ordinances can be amended, but the Council find, it is not <br />in the City's best interest to so amend its plan and hereby reaffirm the <br />policys, goals and objectives of its Comprehensive Plan as amended. <br /> <br />15) That the Comprehensive Plan is in accord with the Metropolitan <br />Council directives and adoption of applicants rezoning request would not <br />be in accord with those directives. <br /> <br />16) That the applicants proposed development would be a positive asset <br />to the City buts its proposed location would adversely affect the City's <br />Health, Safety and Welfare. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting yes Councilman Muller, Councilman Reimann, Council- <br />man Gamec and Mayor Cox. Voting no Councilman Mickelson. <br /> <br />PLAYING FIELD - BALLFIELDS AT RAMSEY ELEMENTARY <br /> <br />Mayor Cox attended the school board meeting in regards to getting a committ- <br />ment from the school district for improving the ballfields at the Ramsey <br />Elementary School. He stated they voted to budget an amount of $9,948.00 <br />for the development of the park at the school. It was the concensus of <br />the Council that due to the long delay in the improvement of the park that <br />we should proceed with the plans of developing and have the school board <br />reimburse the City at the time the funds are budgeted. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman Game and seconded by Councilman Reimann to proceed with <br />the project and instruct City Engineer Raatikka to receive bids for the ag <br />lime, grading and top soil and that the seeding will be done by the City. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting yes Councilman Muller, Councilman Reimann, Council- <br />man Mickelson, Councilman Gamec and Mayor Cox. Voting no None. <br /> <br />AMENDMENT TO CHANGE 110.02 FIREARM ORDINANCE REGARDING BOW ANDARROWS <br /> <br />It is the general concensus of the Council to take no action on the firearms <br />ordinance. <br /> <br />MSAHIGHWAY FUNDS REGARDING CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS FOR 1979 <br /> <br />City Engineer Raatikka stated they have an estimated cost for a feasibility <br />report and conducting of the neDessary public hearings on the proposed 1979 <br /> <br /> <br />
