Special Council
November 2~ 1978
Page 2

Mr. Leininger and Mr. Martinson stated it would take at least
$120,000 just to build the building.

3) Mr. Robert Van Krevelyn

Mr. Van Krevelyn had pla~s for a building containing 3,000 square
feet on the main floor and 3,000 square feet storage, The build-
ing would be concrete block. Plans contain a conveyor system to basement.

He had two sites in mind, the first one being the corner of Highway
#47 and County Road #5, and the second one being the other half of
the Anoka State Bank Ramsey Office.

A contractor has been contacted in the construction of this build-
ing (Vision Builders) and only needs Council approval to finalize
his plans.

4) Vera McGregor

Mrs. McGregor stated she planned to add on to her present building
on Highway #10. The addition would be 68 x 55 with the required
square footage for basement storage. The final plans would contain
the partition between her present business (restaurant) and the
off-sale liquor.

Mrs. McGregor felt the basement storage requirement places an un-
necessary burden on the person who would be granted a license.

Ralph Pearson

Mr. Ralph Pearsons plans contain the other half of the Anoka State
Bank Building Ramsey Office. The building contains 3,500 to 4,000
square feet for the business which he stated is more than adequate
for sales. If additional storage is required he would pick up
the required amount of space outside of his business. Arrangements
have been made with the bank to lease the other half of the build-
ing.

The business would be run by himself and he felt he would need a
few employees. The amount of inventory he felt would be needed
is about $50,000.

Mr. Pearson also stated he felt if the storage space gets too large
the risk is run on vandalism, thievery, pickpockets, etc.

The Council felt they could not make a decision on the granting of a
license at this time. A decision would be made at the November 13,
1978 regular Council meeting.

Also, the Council asked that City Administrator Schnelle check with
the City Attorney Goodrich on the basement storage requirement for
the off-sale liquor license.
