CITY OF RAMSEY <br />COUNTY OF ANOKA <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />A regular meeting of the Ramsey City Council was held on December 18, <br />1978 at the RamseyMunicipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Blvd. N.W., Ramsey <br />Minnesota 55303. <br /> <br />Mayor Cox called the meeting to order at 7:46 P.M. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Members Absent: <br />Others Present: <br /> <br />Councilman Gamec <br />Councilman Reimann <br />Councilman Muller <br />Mayor Cox <br />Councilman Mickelson <br />City Administrator Schnelle <br />City Attorney Goodrich <br />City Engineer Raatikka <br />Building Official Berg <br />Street Superintendent Mevissen <br /> <br />Mayor Cox led in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman Gamec and seconded by Councilman Muller to approve <br />the agenda. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting yes Councilman Gamec, Councilman Reimann, Council- <br />man Muller and Mayor Cox. <br /> <br />LETTERS AND CO~4~RINICATIONS <br /> <br />Mayor Cox read a letter from Mr. Oberstar in regards to a "small cities" <br />workshop that will be held in Bloomington, Minnesota on Tuesday, December <br />19, 1978. Discussion as to whether or not the City of Ramsey should <br />attempt to get funding was held. Councilman Gamec stated he may be able <br />to attend the meeting for part of the day. Councilman Reimann expressed <br />an opinion that he felt a multi purpose recreational facility would be <br />appropriate for the City. Discussion on the problems involved with such <br />a facility followed. <br /> <br />Mayor Cox stated he felt a swimming pool may be more appropriate. He <br />further stated it was his opiniOn that the possibility of funding seemed <br />very good at this time. <br /> <br />Mayor Cox also felt some action should be initiated. It was the concensus <br />of the Council that City Administrator Schnelle attend the meeting and <br />gather the information available at this time. <br /> <br />A letter from the Pollution Control Agency of December 8, 1978 was read <br />and discussed. Mr. Cox felt his question of when we should be concerned <br />with ground water pollution was not answered. Mr. Schnelle explained <br /> <br /> <br />
