COUNCIL BUSINESS <br />7.01: Consider Authorizing Professional Services Related to the Redevelopment of the <br />City's Former Municipal Center Site <br />Asst. City Administrator/Economic Development Manager Brama reviewed the staff report and <br />recommendation to authorize staff to execute the contract with Hakanson Anderson to complete <br />various professional services in preparation for the demolition and site clean up for the City's <br />former municipal center site. <br />Councilmember Riley stated that there is a price range and asked why that price was not set at <br />$20,000. <br />Asst. City Administrator/Economic Development Manager Brama stated that a range in pricing <br />is needed as there are some unknown items that could arise during the process, noting that <br />additional administrative work could be needed by Hakanson Anderson. <br />Councilmember Riley stated that there has been a history of change orders with this applicant <br />and asked if this planning is an attempt to eliminate those change orders. <br />Asst. City Administrator/Economic Development Manager Brama stated that you can never <br />eliminate change orders, as there will always be unknowns, and agreed that the planning on the <br />front end is an attempt to eliminate the change orders to the extent possible. <br />Motion by Councilmember LeTourneau, seconded by Councilmember Johns, to authorize staff <br />to execute the contract with Hakanson Anderson to complete various professional services in <br />preparation for the demolition and site clean up of the City's former municipal center site. <br />City Council / February 23, 2016 <br />Page 4 of 9 <br />
