The conditional use permit is required
because he uses his home mailing address as his business address and stores
his business truck in his garage.

Mr. Steve Friese stated that he was in objection to Mr. Wendt's request
because there has been an accumulation of junk problem at Mr. Wendt's
address in the past and maybe cleaning it up was a ploy to get the
neighbors to not disagree with the permit being granted.

Chairman Zimmerman stated that granting a permit would give the city more
control over Mr. Wendt's condition of premises; no outside storage would be
a condition of the permit and not complying with any condition would be
cause for revocation of the permit.

Mr. Friese stated that he is sure research will confirm that other cities
regret granting variances for home occuaptions in residential areas.

Motion by Commissioner Hendriksen and seconded by Commissioner LaDue to
recommend that City Council adopt findings of fact, amended as follows,
relating to Mr, Brian Jerome Wendt's request for a variance:

Item #2 should read as follows: 'That the Ramsey Planning and Zoning
Commission conducted a public hearing pursuant to Section 170.013G of
the Ramsey City Code on October 6, 1987 and that said public hearing
was properly advertised and that the minutes of said public are hereby
incorporated as a part of these findings by reference.'
Planning & Zoning Commission/October 6, 1987

?age5 of 8
