APPROVE PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Hendriksen and seconded by Chairman Zimmerman to approve <br />the following with corrections as noted: <br /> <br />1) Planning and Zoning Commission minutes of interviews with Commission <br /> candidates dated August 11, 1987. <br /> <br />2) Regular Planning and Zoning Commission meeting minutes dated August <br /> 11, 1987: <br /> <br />a) <br /> <br />Add further discussion to the motion approving the agenda as <br />follows: 'Commissioner Hendriksen noted that his reason for <br />deleting the case was that the City Engineer's report was not <br />available and he was not informed that the City Engineer would be <br />present at the meeting'. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting yes: Chairman Zimmerman, Commissioners Hendr iksen, <br />Shumway, LaDue, Holm, and Howell. Voting no: None. <br /> <br />NOTE PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES <br /> <br />The Commission noted the following: <br /> <br />1) Park and Recreation Commission regular meeting minutes dated July 9, <br /> 1987. <br /> <br />2) Park and Recreation Commission regular meeting minutes dated August <br /> 13, 1987. <br /> <br />COMMISSION BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #1: <br /> <br />Request For Conditional Use Permit To Establish Asphalt Pla~t In <br />ThE I-1 Industrial District; Case Of Barton Sand A~d Gr~vel <br /> <br />Mr. Gary Sauer was present representing Commercial Asphalt Company (Barton Sand <br />and Gravel Company). He stated that the company has been in business since <br />1945. They have various plants in the Twin Cities Metro Area and approximately <br />15 gravel pits. The company is regulated very heavily and they try to be good <br />neighbors. They don't always have control over the trucks that do business <br />with them, but they do try to follow-up and resolve immediately any complaints <br />or problems that arise. They do realize their responsibility as citizens in <br />the community. <br /> <br />Chairman Zimmerman asked that Mr. Sauer provide the City with a list of their <br />plants in the Metro Area. <br /> <br />Commissioner Hendriksen asked Community Development Director Norris if a video <br />was done of the Maple Grove site. <br /> <br />Ms. Norris explained that it was done but it was unintentionally erased. She <br />stated that it was very impressive and that they do run a nice operation of <br />that type. <br /> <br />Mr. Sauer stated that the proposed site on Highway ~10 is a nice location and <br />is far enough away from any residential areas. <br /> <br />Planning & Zoning Commission/September 1, 1987 <br /> Page 2 of 6 <br /> <br /> <br />
