Request For Metes And Bounds Subdivision..' CaSe Of Mr. Dav'~H <br /> Tranbv: <br /> <br />Mr. Tranby was present requesting a metes and bounds subdivision of his <br />property located on Baugh Street NW, south of 173rd Avenue NW in order to <br />create two additional ten acre parcels from this property. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Shumway and seconded by Commissioner Howell to <br />recommend approval of Mr. Tranby's request for a metes and bounds <br />subdivision to create two 10 acre parcels. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Peterson, Commissioners Zimmerman, <br />LaDue, Howell, Holm, Hendriksen and Shumway. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #11: Discuss Policy For Request For Tax Increm~n~ Financing; <br /> <br />Chairman Peterson discussed how tax increment financing has been used in <br />the past for public improvements. Me also stated that he is concerned with <br />public perception of projects. <br /> <br />Commissioner Howell stated that perhaps staff or Economic Development <br />Commission should draft a one-page information sheet on tax increment <br />financing that would be available to the public and for publication in the <br />City newsletter. <br /> <br />Case #I0: Discuss Transportation Element' A~d Thoroughf'~r¢ Plan Of The <br /> Comprehensive Plan: <br /> <br />Commissioner Zimmerman suggested that the Commission meet with City Council <br />to review the transportation element. <br /> <br />Chairman Peterson noted that the existing transportation plan was adopted <br />in 1981; that input from the City Engineer should be available prior to a <br />Council and Planning and Zoning meeting to discuss the issue. Chairman <br />Peterson stated that he understands that the landfill has offered to build <br />153rd across the northern boundary of their property. <br /> <br />Commissioner Zimmerman stated that the Commission needs an updated map of <br />existing roads and to'schedule a meeting with the City Engineer to review <br />transportation elements of the Comprehensive Plan. <br /> <br />Case #8: .Request For Concept Review: Case Of Mr'. Di~k CarSon$ <br /> <br />Mr. Dick Carson was present and stated that he is considering purchasing <br />and developing the Hoffman property using access from Magnesium Street. <br />The property is approximately 37 acres in size but there are potentially <br />160 acres in that area (Chicoine and Schaumburg's property). Mr. Carson <br />would extend sewer from Flintwood II and III to service the parcel and <br />water would be extended from that to be developed along Industry Avenue. <br />Mr. Carson is proposing to plat approximately 56 lots. Mr. Carson does not <br />feel that the developer should have to carry the entire cost of extending <br />utilities and is considering requesting city participation.
