Absent: Commissioners <br />Howell and Shumway. <br /> <br />Case #7: Discussion Regarding Position On The Commission; <br /> <br />Motion by Chairman Peterson and seconded by Commissioner LaDue to recommend <br />that City Council appoint Mr, Ben Deemer to serve on the Planning and <br />Zoning Commission to a term to expire December 31, 1990. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Peterson, Commissioners Zimmerman <br />and LaDue. Voting No: None. Abstain: Commissioners Hendriksen and <br />Deemer. Absent: Commissioners Howell and Shumway. <br /> <br />Commissioner Hendriksen explained his vote to abstain as being based on the <br />fact that he was not present at either of the sessions to interview <br />applicants. <br /> <br />Case #8: Discua~ion Regarding AdvanCed Planning Institute: <br /> <br />The Commission noted information enclosed in the agenda regarding the <br />Advanced Planning Institute scheduled for May 7-8. <br /> <br />Case #9: <br /> <br />Request For Metes And Bounds Subdivision; Ca~. Of Bl~dholm <br />Company: <br /> <br />The agenda noted that Bladholm Company purchased the old Prestressed site <br />and during closing it was discovered that the legal description for one of <br />the parcels includes an exception to accommodate a small cemetery. <br />Bladholm is requesting approval of a metes and bounds subdivision to split <br />off that exception from the parcel. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Zimmerman and seconded by Commissioner Deemer to <br />recommend that City Council approve the Bladholm Company's request for a <br />metes and bounds subdivision, Further, that Council consider obtaining an <br />easement to the cemetery for purposes of access and maintenance of the site <br />or the possibility of relocating the cemetery. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Absent: Commissioners <br /> <br />COMMISSION INPUT <br /> <br />Commissioner Deemer stated that in regards to Rehbein's request to excavate <br />and create a man-made lake in Northfork and the related truck traffic, he <br />measured the distance between the Cry. Rd. #83 railroad crossing gate and <br />the Hwy. #10 right-of-way at 49 feet and 54 feet between traffic lanes and <br />the median. <br /> <br />Commissioner Deemer referred to the proposed Zoning Ordinance amendments <br />and stated that an amendment should be considered requiring paving for use <br />of setback without a site plan or restrict persons from using property <br />right up to the right-of-way line. <br /> Planning & Zoning/April 23, 1987 <br /> <br />Page 5 of 6 <br /> <br /> <br />
