' <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Peterson, Commissioners Zimmerman, <br />Deemer, Shumway, LaDue, Hendriksen and Howell. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Request For Conditional Use Permit To Manufacture Steel <br /> Horseshoes In The B-1 Business District At 6250 Front Street <br /> ~: Case Of Mr. Richard Duaaan: <br /> <br />Mr. Duggan was present, referred to the concern expressed at the last <br />Commission meeting regarding noise associated with drop forge hammers and <br />stated there is very little noise, but there is vibration. The hammer <br />would be mounted on a concrete and timber base to reduce the extension of <br />the vibrations frcm going beyond the building. <br /> <br />The Commission proceeded to review the proposed findings of fact. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Hendriksen and seconded by Commissioner Howell to <br />recommend approval of the proposed findings of fact, amended as follows, <br />relating to Mr. Richard Duggan's request for a conditional use permit. <br /> <br />Item $10 - Should read as follows: 'That the proposed manufacturing <br />facility will not be unduly dangerous or detrimental to persons <br />residing in the area.' <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Peterson, Commissioners Zimmerman, <br />Deemer, Shumway, Hendriksen, LaDue and Howell. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />The Commission proceeded to review the proposed conditional use permit. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Deemer and seconded by Commissioner LaDue to <br />recon~nend approval of Mr. Richard Duggan's request for a conditional use <br />permit, amended as follows, to manufacture steel horseshoes in the B-1 <br />Business District. <br /> <br />Item $1 should read as follows: 'Mr. Richard Duggan is permitted to <br />manufacture steel horseshoes on the premises using an electric drop <br />forge hammer.' <br /> <br />Item $2 should read as follows: 'Mr. Richard Duggan shall maintain a <br />minimum of one off-street parking spaces for each employee on the <br />maximum working shift. Such off-street parking shall be paved with <br />blacktop or concrete.' <br /> <br />Item $4 should be added to read as follows: 'City receipt of any <br />complaints of noise and vibration shall serve as cause to review the <br /> P & Z/March 19, 1987 <br /> <br />Page 6 of 9 <br /> <br /> <br />
