Commissioner Isakson stated that this plan might negate the Rum River Bridge <br />Crossing. <br /> <br />Mr. Raatikka stated that extension of Thurston Avenue woUld be a supplement to <br />the Rum River Bridge Crossing and that with the addition of sewer and water <br />to this area development is really going to progress and another thoroughfare <br />would be an asset. <br /> <br />I <br />i <br />i <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />!1 <br /> <br /> I <br /> I <br /> <br />Commission consensus is that the concept a good one providing it includes <br />a grade separation crossing at the railroad tracks and that the intersection <br />of Cty. Rd. 5, Hwy. 47 and Thurston Avenue be at the same point. <br /> <br />Commissioner Dunn noted that the Ad Hoc Committee for Public.Utilities worked <br />very diligently to try and retard the premature extension of sewer into <br />existing residential subdivided areas. Whether or not that objective will <br />be met he doesn't know, but it was one of the main driving forces of ~he policy <br />that was recommended. <br /> <br />Case #3: 'Election Of Planning And Zoning Commission Officers: <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Schneider and ~econded by Commisioner Dunn'.to retain <br />Mr. Kenneth Peterson as Ch&irman and Mr. Gerald Zimmerman as Vice Chairman <br />to the Planning and Zoning Commission for a one year term. <br /> <br />Motion-carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Peterson, Commissioners Dunn, Zimmerman, <br />Deemer~ LaDue, Isakson andi:Schneider. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />COMMISSION INPUT <br /> <br />Commissioner Deemer commented that the City Street Department deserved a <br />commendation for their snow removal attained during the last storm. The <br />other Commission members agreed. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Isakson and seconded by Commissioner Schneider to adjourn <br />the meeting. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Peterson, Commissioners Dunn, Zimmerman, <br />Deemer, Schneider, Isakson and LaDue.
