Commissioner Isakson stated that this plan might negate the Rum River Bridge Crossing. Mr. Raatikka stated that extension of Thurston Avenue woUld be a supplement to the Rum River Bridge Crossing and that with the addition of sewer and water to this area development is really going to progress and another thoroughfare would be an asset. I i i I I I !1 I I Commission consensus is that the concept a good one providing it includes a grade separation crossing at the railroad tracks and that the intersection of Cty. Rd. 5, Hwy. 47 and Thurston Avenue be at the same point. Commissioner Dunn noted that the Ad Hoc Committee for Public.Utilities worked very diligently to try and retard the premature extension of sewer into existing residential subdivided areas. Whether or not that objective will be met he doesn't know, but it was one of the main driving forces of ~he policy that was recommended. Case #3: 'Election Of Planning And Zoning Commission Officers: Motion by Commissioner Schneider and ~econded by Commisioner Dunn'.to retain Mr. Kenneth Peterson as Ch&irman and Mr. Gerald Zimmerman as Vice Chairman to the Planning and Zoning Commission for a one year term. Motion-carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Peterson, Commissioners Dunn, Zimmerman, Deemer~ LaDue, Isakson andi:Schneider. Voting No: None. COMMISSION INPUT Commissioner Deemer commented that the City Street Department deserved a commendation for their snow removal attained during the last storm. The other Commission members agreed. ADJOURNMENT Motion by Commissioner Isakson and seconded by Commissioner Schneider to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Peterson, Commissioners Dunn, Zimmerman, Deemer, Schneider, Isakson and LaDue. Voting No: None.' The regular Planning and Zoning Commission meeting adjourned at 9:15 P.M.
