Counctlmember Sorteberg introduced the following resolution and moved fgr its adoptlon: RESOLUTION #83-7 RESOLUTION FOR THE PRovISION OF METHANE GAS TO C.A.P. AND WALTEK, INC. WHEREAS, the Anoka County Board of Commissioners, in cooperation with the Cities of Anoka and Ramsey, has actively pursued the concept of methane gas extraction from the existing sanitary landfill located in the City of Rmsey, and continues to coordinate strategies for utilization of methane gas as an energy source; and WHEREAS, in Resolution #80-81, the City of Ramsey declared its intent to cooperate with Anoka County in its efforts to explOre utilization of methane gas from the existing sanitary landfill as an alternative energy source; and WHEREAS, the Anoka County C.A.P. has made application for funds from the State of Minnesota to develop a pilot project at the existing land- fill site to convert the methane gas into energy which may be utilized for industrial expansion; and ' ' . WHEREAS, Waltek, Inc., wishes to cooperate with C.A.P. in exploring the feasibility of using the gas for generating electricity; and WHEREAS, Waltek, Inc. and C.A.P. need assurance of a supply of said methane gas in order to proceed with C.A.P.'s fund application. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Ramsey hereby confirms its continued commitment to a cooperative effort for utilization of this resource. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember Reimann and upon vote being taken thereon, the foll~wing voted in favor thereof: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Van Wagner, SchlUeter, Sorteb~rg and Reimann and the following voted against the same: None . whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City Council this the 25th day of January, 1983.
