Schnelle: During a recent phone conversation with the City Fngineer, I was requested to bring the City up to date as to the status of the review of the above referenced intersection. In response to this request I offer the following information. 612-421-4760 :1 I I I I We attempted earlier this winter to take some traffic counts on the approaches to this intersection. The Counts we obtained do not correlate with any others we have made at this location nor do they even appear reasonable. We have never' had much success making winter counts with the equipment we have and usually do not attempt it. The cold temperatures and snow appear to cause the machines to malfunction. Since the results we obtained in this instance do not appear valid we would not base a change on them and regardless of what the results were, we ~uld not make a change in the traffic control at an intersection at this time of year unless it were an emergency. As soon as the weather and road conditions permit we will recount the traffic and make a decision on the change. We will notify the City Engineer and the City as soon as this has been completed.
