I
i
I
I
!
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I

The preceding responses are meant only to address the comments on the
"Summary of City Election Officials Concerns on Election Night Procedures
at the Anoka County Courthouse". They should not be construed to support
or negate any part of the summary because the goal of~all should be to
seek procedures that will be as efficient as possible and have election
results as prompt as possible.

Perhaps, if as judges come into the courthouse, they were given a number~
with a projected time when they would go to data. This would accomplish
two things -- the waiting would be in their assigned area and all checking
to get ready for the counting center could be done in a more relaxed pace,
Perhaps other checking out of supplies could be done during that time and
make the time less wasteful. It would require additional Auditor's staff
to track what is happening in data and which judges are up next. I think
it would be very workable. Sitting in line at data is frustrating for all
when everyone is very tired.

One judge I talked to after the election suggested having coffee available
in the waiting area and perhaps the posting of some accumulative results
so they would know what is going on would also make waiting easier.
