Voting yes
Voting no .

ACCRUAL OF ADDITIONAL VACATION TIME:

I have spoken to the Council Personnel Committee informally about the
accruing of additional vacation time. We currently have the following
persons who will be in this situation:

1) Clayton Berg
2) Lloyd Schnelle

Accordingly, they have recommended that it be placed on the agenda for
discussion and action. ~

Problem - Due to workload here, we have certain City Staff personnel who
will be losing vacation time. During the past years they have lost days
but now it is getting ridiculous to continue on making these contributions.
The reason we are finding ourselves in this position is strictly because
of the immense workload we always have confronting us.

Consequently, we are requesting that we be allowed to accrue additional
vacation days above and beyond what is currently authorized under the
City Code so that we do not lose this time. I guess this is the price
you pay when you maintain below minimum staffing. It is a very cheap
price to pay.

Council Action: Your action will be to approve/disapprove of the above
request by resolution. Enclosure (D2-d) contains said resolution. The
following proposed motion is hereby submitted for your consideration:
Motion by ~/,!,~_.Z//.~.~,and seconded by~i'~,~¢.?"'~ to approve/disapprove
of adopting Resoiuti~n 983- authorizing th~ accrual of additional
vacation time. Please refer to resolution [file for Resolution #83-
. (~f you disapprove you should .~.i~.~ an explanation.)

Motion carried. Voting 7es ~.,~,_Z" ·
Voting no ..~.. I ~. ·

CITY NEWSLETTER:

It has been requested by the City Attorney that this be placed on the
agenda. It appears that Council had much discussion and liked the idea
but never approved of the newsletter by motion.

Comments: I have received very favorable comments on this publication
and I think the citizens really enjoy it.
