I I I I PROCEEDINGS OF THE iPERSONNEL COMMITTEE CITY OF RAMSEY ANOKA COUNTY STATE OF MINNESOTA A regular meeting of the Ramsey City Council Personnel Committee was held on Monday, May 2, 1983 at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Blvd. NW, Ramsey, Minnesota 55303. -Members Present: Councilmember A1 Sorteberg Councilmember Gary Reimann Also Present: City Administrator Lloyd Schnelle' Public Works Superintendent Merle Mevissen' Citizen Brenda Bauerkemper I I I The meeting was called to order at 7:05 p.m. for the purpose of interviewing candidates for the position of light equipment operator. Case #1: Interviewing of Job Applicants for the Position of Light Equipment C~erator: The Ramsey Council Personnel Committee interviewed the following persons for the new position of Light Equipment Operator which is being created to main- tain parks and work On regular street maintenance. I I I I I a) b) Mr. Mark Boos, 15308 - 7th Avenue, Andover, MN - Mr. Boos stated he was very interested in the above position. WhenTasked what type of salary he would expect he stated at least above minimum wage. It was stated that the City was looking at the hourly range as stated in enclosure (1) to these minutes. Public Works Superintendent Mevissen stated that this young man had worked part~time on the Ramsey snow removel crew and he had done an outstanding job.- ........ The City's fringe benefits were covered with this individual and also the type of work involved with this position. Mr. Kenneth Daly, 5100 - 177th Avenue N-W, Ramsey, MN - Mr. Daly gave a brief summary of his work experience. The duties 6fLthis position were explained to this individual. Further, the salary range as covered in enclosure (1) was explained. Mr. Daly stated that he would have to take a reduction in pay if he was offered this job so he said he would have to think about it. c) He further stated that he didn't want the City speaking to his present employer without first informing him, as he stated that he liked his present job, however, he was very concerned about 'the work slowdown due to the economy in the State. Mr. Ronald Stone, 411 Dayton Road, River Manor, Apt. #304, Champlin, MN - Mr. Stone gave a brief summary of his work experience. He stated that he was familiar with municipalities as his father worked for the City of Andover. ~ This individual was asked about his salary requirements and he stated that he would need enough to cover the basic needs for a Personnel Comfaittee/May 2, 1983 Page 1 of 3
