I
ICASE #9:

rI

STATUS OF ZONING; CASE OF MR. BEN DEEMER:

Mr. Ben Deemer of 14544 Nowthen Blvd. NW is questioning the present
zoning of his property which he feels is UMB 2. However, our zoning
maps show it to be UMB excluding eating and drinking establishments
and drive-in banks. The UMB 2 classification of which he speaks was
eliminated at the time that the rezoning was done for Mr. Bill Aydt
because it did not provide for anything other than what existed. In
view of this, Mr. Deemer is now saying that his property and that of
Lee's Landscaping were illegally rezoned and he wishes to address the
Council on this matter. If this is in fact the case, then a public
hearing to consider the zoning of the property would be appropriate.

I
I
I
I

If you feel that this is the manner in which this should be done, then
we would recommend you waive the $50.00 fee and direct Staff to schedule
a public hearing.

Council Action: The following proposed motion is hereby submitted for
your consideration:

Motion by and seconded by to direct Staff
to hold a public hearing to consider the zoning of Mr. Ben Deemer's
property and that which formerly belonged to Lee's Landscaping
and further that the $50.00 filing fee for said public hearing
be waived.

CASE #10:
I

I CASE #11:

I

Motion carried. Voting yes
Voting no

DISCUSSION ON CALLABLE BONDS - GENERAL OBLIGATION IMPROVEMENT BOND
($815M) SEPTEMBER 1981 PURCHASED BY THE CITY OF RAMSEY:

Every year we check the necessity of the callability of our ~eneral
obligation improvement bonds. This year it appears that, according to
Springsted, our 1981 general obligation issue in the amount of $815,O00
falls in the range whereby we should give this serious consideration.

Enclosure (D3-f) contains a letter from Mr. David Goblisch of Springsted
pointing out the feasibility of exercising the option of calling the
above 1981 general obligation bond ($815M). I will be meeting with
Mr. Goblisch on Thursday, May 26, 1983 to discuss this matter.

Council Action: Your action will be to approve/disapprove according
to what recommendations are presented at the Council meeting. If we
act to exercise the calling of the bond we will have to do this by
resolution. If we choose not to exercise calling the bond there should
be a motion stating the reason why the City chose that route.

TROTT BROOK CEMETARY, REQUEST FOR FENCE REPLACEMENT:

It has been brought to my attention by the Public Works Superintendent
that the above cemetary fence should be replaced. The cost will be
approximately $250.00. We propose to use a woven wire type fence.
