REPORT ON FEASIBLITY STUDY
FOR
BEAUDRY'S SECOND ADDITION & HEMATITE STREET N.W.
BITUMINOUS STREET PAVING

I SCOPE

I
I

The purpose of this study is to determine the feasibility of providing
bituminous streets to serve the above referenced area. This report further
provides a cursory review of the existing drainage system within the project area.

The project .area lies within the Northwest Quarter and the. Southwest Quarter~of

I
I
I

Section 22, Range 25 West, Township 32 North, City of Ramsey, Anoka County,
Minnesota.

The project area lies east of County Road No. 56, west of Garnet Street, north
of 151st Avenue and south of 154th Lane.

I
I
i

The project area is shown on Exhibit A.

EXISTING CONDITIONS

The present street network consists of a rural street section with a gravel or

I
I
I
I

sand surface approximately 28 feet in width. Both street and driveway culverts
are generally in place but the project area lacks a positive outlet. An
inspection of the area revealed that the ditches have been filled in and many
of the driveway culverts have become plugged with dirt. Therefore, storm water
runoff in several areas ponds in the ditches and low areas percolating into the
soil. The ditches along 152nd Avenue lying east of Jaspar Street are very
susceptible to erosion due to steep grades and sandy soils.
