Since the prop'osed street includes bituminous berms to contain runoff, no ·

ditches will be required along the street. However, to divert the drainage'
II=' from the street to the ponding areas, it is proposed to construct drainage

swales.

I

The proposed improvements would not provide a positive outlet to the drainage
as proposed in the Comprehensive Storm Drain Study. However, it is not
anticipated that the drainage will create any major problems with only
occasional flooding of the low areas occurring during heavy rains and during
snow melt prior to the disappearance of frost in the spring. The ultimate
solution to the drainage would require construction of a drainage outlet to
County Ditch No. 66 and No. 3.

COSTS

Estimated costs and estimated quantities are provided in the following for the

proposed improvements.

ESTIMATED COSTS

I

Item

Bituminous Surfacing

Class V Gravel

Estimated Quantity

Estimated Cost

900 Tons $20,700.00
1,300 Tons 6,825.00

Grading & Drainage Improvements
Estimated Construction Cost -

1 Lump Sum 4,175.00

$31,700.00

!

Contingencies, Engineering & Administrative -
ESTIMATED PROJECT COST -

7,900.00

$39,600.00

:!

-3-
