The system
shall be considered satisfactorily air tested if the pressure therein
remains constaflt for fifteen (15) minutes without the addition of air.

4. The portions of any buried sewer more than fifty (50)
feet from a well shall be constructed of cast iron, vitrified clay,
cement-asbestos, concrete, or other approved pipe material.

5. Ail joints between pipes and fittings in the building
sewer shall have watertight and root-tight joints. Portland cement
mortar joints shall not be allowed. Lines shall provide a grade of
not less than one-eighth (1/8) inch per foot. Where building sewers
exceed fifty (50) feet in length, lines shall provide a grade which
will allow a flow velocity of not less than two (2) feet per second.
In no case shall the grade exceed two percent (2.0%). Ail changes
of grade shall be by means of long sweep ells. Where long sweep ells
are not used and where the direction changes by more than twenty and
one-half (22-1/2) degrees, accessib]e watertight cleanouts shall be
provided.

150.014C SEPTIC TANKS

Subd. 1 GENERAL

All tanks, regardless of material or method of construction, shall
be:

a. So designed and constructed as to withstand all
lateral earth pressures under saturated soil condi-
tions with the tank empty;
d. So designed and constructed as to withstand a mini-
mum of seven (7) feet of saturated earth cover
above the tank top;
e. Not subject to excessive corrosion or decay.

StUd. 2 I)ESI GN

All tanks, regardless of material or method of construction, shall
conform to the roi. lowing design criteria.

]..
