Surface Flooding. Sewage tanks shall not be placed in <br />the flood plains, delJneanted by local ordinances adopted in compliance <br />with the Statewide Standards for Management of Flood Plain Areas of <br />Minnesota (~Jtnn. Reg. NR 85 - 93), or ~n areas for which regional flood <br />~nformation is ava41able from the Department of Natural Resources. <br /> <br />]50.0]4D DISTRIBUTION OF EFFLUENT <br /> <br />Subd. 1 GRAVITY DISTRIBUTION <br /> <br />(a) LEVEL GROUND <br /> <br />Where the elevation differences of the ground surface does not exceed <br />twenty-eight (28) inches in any direction within the soil treatment area, <br />the sewage tank effluent may be directed to the soil treatment area <br />through a system of interconnected distribution pipes or trenched in a <br />continuous system. <br /> <br />(b) SLIGHTLY SLOPING (;ROUND <br /> <br />Where the elevation difference of the ground surface exceeds twenty- <br />eight (28) inches in any direction within the soil treatment area, the <br />sewage tank effluent may be distributed by a distribution box, provided <br />the final ground surface elevation of the lowest trench is at least <br />one (1) foot higher than the outlet inverts of the distribution box. <br /> <br /> 1. The box shall be watertight with a removable cover and <br />shall be constructed of durable materials not subject to excessive <br />corrosion or decay. Each outlet shall have at least six (6) inches <br />of sidewall space and the side of any outlet shall be at least six <br />(6) inches from any corner. <br /> <br />2. ~e inverts of all outlets shall be at the same elevation. <br /> <br /> '3. The inlet inverts shall be at least one (1) inch above <br />the outlet inverts. <br /> <br /> 4. The outlet inverts shall be at least fou'r (4) inches <br />above the distribution box floor. <br /> <br /> 5. Each drainfield trench line shall be connected separately <br />to the distribution box and shall not be subdivided. <br /> <br /> 6. ~d~en sewage tank effluent is delivered to the distribution <br />box by pump, either a baffle wall shall be installed in the distribution <br />box or the pump discharge shall be directed against a wall or side of <br />the box on whJch there is no outlet. The baffle shall be secured to <br />the box and sha].l extend at least one (1) inch above the crown of the <br />in]et flow line. <br /> <br />(c) SlX)PiNG GROUND <br /> <br />Where the elevation difference of the ground surface exceeds twenty- <br />eight (28) inches ~n any direction within soil treatment area and a <br /> <br /> <br />
