Connection <br />between drop boxes shall be by watertight pipes; <br /> <br /> 1. The drop box shall be watertight and constructed of dur- <br />able materials not subject to excessive corrosion or decay. Each out- <br />let shall have at least six (6) inches of sidewall space and the side <br />of any out]et shall be at least four (4) inches from any corner. <br /> <br /> 2. ~Ti3e invert of the inlet pipe shall be at least one (1) <br />inch-h.3gher than the invert of the outlet pipe to the next trench. <br /> <br /> 3. The invert of the outlet pipe to the next trench shall <br />be at ]east two (2) inches higher than the invert of the outlet pipe <br />of the trench in which the box is located. <br /> <br /> 4. When sewage tank effluent is delivered to the drop box <br />by a pump, the pump discharge shall be directed against a wall or side <br />of the box on which there is no outlet. <br /> <br /> 5. The drop box shall have a removable cover either flush or <br />above finished grade or covered by So more than six (6) inches of soil. <br /> <br />150.014E DOSING <br /> <br />When the sewage quantity exceeds the amount that can be disposed of in <br />five hundred (500) linear feet of tile, a dosing tank may be used. <br /> <br />DOSING CHA3.IBER <br /> <br /> 1. The dosing chamber shall be watertight and constructed <br />of sound and durable materials not subject to excessive corrosion or <br />decay. <br /> <br /> 2. There shall be one (1) or more manholes, at least twenty <br />(20) inches in dimension, and preferably located directly above the <br />dosing device. The manhole shall extend through the dosing chamber <br />cover to final grade and shall be so constructed as to prevent unauth- <br />orized entry. <br /> <br /> 3. The size of the effluent dose shall be determined by <br />design of the soil treatment unit, but in no case shall the dosing <br />chamber be sized to provide a dose of less than seventy-five (75) <br />gallons. <br /> <br />IX)SING DEVICES FOR GRAVITY DISTRIBUTION <br /> <br /> 1. A pump or siphon shall deliver the dose to the soil <br />treatment unit for gravity distribution over the soil treatment area. <br /> <br /> 2. For systems for dwellings, the dosing device shall dis- <br />charge, at ]east six hundred (600) gallons per hour, but no more than <br />two thousand seven hundred (2,700) gallons per hour. <br /> <br /> 3. For other establishments, the dosing device should dis- <br />charge at a rate at least ten percent (10%) greater than the. water <br />supply flow rate, but no faster than the rate at which effluent will <br />flow o,t of the d~stribution device. <br /> <br /> <br />
