All towns, all special taxing districts, <br />and cities under 5,000 population have' been exempted from this limitation. <br /> <br />Enclosed is the levy limitation Form 280 for taxes payable in 1984. The amount of <br />your city's payable 1984 levy limitation has not been entered on line 4 of your <br />Form 280 because some of the information needed to calculate your final payable 1984 <br />levy limitation is not known at this time. The off.icial notice of your payable 1984 <br />overall levy limitation will be certified to you before August 15, 1983. Other <br />amounts have been entered in several of the special levy schedules where appropriate <br />to assist you in completing the Form 280. <br /> <br />Also enclosed is the Form 280 instructions for taxes payable in 1984. The underlined <br />material in the instructions highlight the special levy changes or clarifications. <br /> <br />The third enclosure is a form explaining the levy limit base adjustment for payable <br />1983 special assessments levied for municipal operation and maintenance activities. <br />If you are eligible for this levy limit base adjustment and wish to claim it, please <br />cOmplete the procedures as outlined on the form. <br /> <br />There is no law which sets a deadline for submitting the Form 280 to our office. <br />However, in order for us to be able to make an earlier determination of compliance <br />with the overall levy limitation, it would be appreciated if your city's completed <br />Form 280 could be returned to our office by October 10, 1983. <br /> <br />If you have any questions regarding this letter or the enclosures, please contact me. <br /> <br />I Very truly yours, <br /> <br /> RICHARD B.
