I <br /> <br /> I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I- <br /> <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />i <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />Councilmember Sorteberg stated that Burns could be asked to share in the <br />cost of solving the drainage problem but that the issue should not be <br />forced considering Burns' generous donation to the senior citizen center. <br /> <br />Motion by Mayor Gamec and seconded by Councilmember Sorteberg authorizing <br />the City Engineer to advertise for price quotes to correct the surface <br />water drainage problem at 180th Avenue N-W, Erkium Street Nw and Ford Brook <br />Estates, further that these price quotes not exceed $1500 and that the <br />City Engineer award the bid accordingly. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Reimann <br />and Schlueter. Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmember Van Wagner. <br /> <br />Case #6: Public Utility Assessment Ordinance (Sanitar~ Sewer, Water, Storm <br /> Sewer, Etc.) Reconsideration: <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec stated that he would like to schedule a meeting between Council <br />and person's knowledgeable in the areas of taxing and bonding, that the <br />amendment proposed ton-ight still seems to be unworkable where developers <br />are concerned. Mayor ~nec stated it is doubtful any development will <br />take place in Ramsey even if-the ordinance is amended to 17%% cash up front <br />and 17%% letter of dredit and the City wili go bankrupt if we don't allow <br />for some tax base ~0 come-in. <br /> <br />Mr. Schnelle advised Council against approving the amendment proposed if <br />they had any doubts, that it would be bad policy to amend the ordinance <br />again at a later date. Mr. Schnelle also reminded Council that their major <br />concern is to get the second connection to Ramsey's edge with Metro dollars. <br /> <br />Darryl Fults - Stated that he has talked with developers regarding the 35% <br />requirement and the developers say that it is workable, in the future, but <br />they will develop in Ramsey as a last choice. <br /> <br />Bill G. Miller - Stated that he is interested in just what the actual up <br />front cost percentage would be when park fees and landscaping and other <br />such contingencies are added to the initial 35%. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec stated that he would set up a special meeting between Council <br />and taxing/bonding experts and that this case should be tabled until the <br />July Council meeting for decision. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Reimann and seconded by Councilmember Sorteberg to <br />table Case #6 until the Regular Council meeting in July, 1983. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Reimann <br />and Schlueter. Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmember Van Wagner. <br /> <br />Case #5: Compliance With City Code Chapter 150.01 Entitled Sewage Disposal <br /> .Systems: <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Sorteberg and seconded by Councilmember Reimann to <br />direct that the Council Budget Committee prepare a proposed method of <br />funding (revenue and expenditures) to cover the cost involved in complying <br />with City Code Chapter 150.01. Further, that this recommendation be prepared <br />as a supplement to the 1984 Annual Budget which will be submitted to Council <br />for action. <br /> <br />C/June 28, 1983 <br />Page 10 of 20 <br /> <br /> <br />
