Schnelle noted that when the original ordinance was adopted, there were comments from citizens and this background information should be reviewed by Council. Councilmember Reimann suggested that the Budget Committee review the matter first. Mayor Gamec noted that what the City had thought to be a simple matter is turning into a terrific cost factor. I I I I I Case ~7: Status Of Zoning; Case Of Mr. Ben Deemer: Mr. Schnelle stated that he has been informed by Mr. Ben Deemer that the City has changed his zoning without giving him a proper public hearing. Mr. Schnelle stated that he has checked this out and the City has never changed the zoning of Mr. Deemer's land, but the City did establish a UMB 2 zone on the Deemer pr~ty when the C~ty.adopted its new zoning ordinance in 19~8. .At that time'the qity gave the William Aydt and (formerly) Gale Gorham properti~s'a ~MB 2 special zoning, design with limitations because those two properties .did not fit .into the UMB uses but were grandfathered in under the law. ~ ..... ~'~ Council authorized that Ramsey ~lanning and Zoning draw up a agreement designating the permitted uses for the three subject properties.
