I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />- 2 - <br /> <br />The loan program replaces the former grant program because of the: 1) small <br />amount of funds available; 2) shrinking planning assistance funds at all levels <br />of government; and 3) likelihood that this appropriation will be the Council's <br />last for the purpose of planning under the Metropolitan Land Planning Act. <br /> <br />Major features of the loan program include the following: <br /> <br />- Two-thirds of the loan fund was made available for loans during the initial <br /> loan period, September 10 through November 9; $92,400 was available during <br /> the second loan period~ February 1 through March 31, 1983. An additional <br /> $41,000 is available' during the current loan period that extends from <br /> July 1 through August 31, 1983. <br /> <br />- Local governments wi~opted comprehensive plans and ordinances to <br /> enfouqe. She plans are'elig%~le to-apply. <br /> <br /> After three yea~s~.2of operation, the Loan program will be reeavaluated by <br /> the Council.
