Your questions about the economic affect of Site P on Ramsey and on adjacent property owners also cannot be answered now. The Metropolitan Council is required by law to report early next year to the Legislature on the need for compensation to communities which must host waste disposal facilities. The Council is currently expandin§ its Metropolitan Waste Management Advisory Committee by adding temporary members from cities and towns with candidate landfill sites who will participate in the development of that report. A copy of our staff's report on Site P is enclosed.
