I
I
I
I
I

MEMO

TO:

Lloyd Schnelle, City Administrator

FROM: City Engineer

DATE: September 23, 1982

RE:

Engineering Items

Following is a list of items which will require council action:

Change Order No. 3 for Project 82-1: As shown on the attached change order this
change is for import granular fill material and a change in culvert pipe. The
existing culvert pipes were inadvertently shown incorrectly on the plans. The
need for the import material was caused due to additional upsuitable materials
encountered on the project.

.Pay Estimate No. 2 For Project #82-l: The total amount of work completed on this
project including change order No. 3 is $82,645.89. We are recommending payment
of $63,779.10 to the contractor at this time.

Pay Estimate No. 2 for Projects #82-2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 & 10: The total amount of
work completed on this project is $213,080.60. We are recommending payment of
$132,578.06 to the contractor at this time.

Wes Bulen Drainage Easement: Wes Bulen has requested that language be included
on his drainage easement stating that the City be responsible for an outlet to
the river in the event flooding is a problem. Neither Wes nor myself forsee this
to be a problem provided the property is developed as a golf course.

t983 MSAS Project: The City should consider if they are going to complete a
MSAS project in 1983. It would be beneficial to prepare plans this fall prior
to heavy snow falls. By completing the plans this year, the winter months could
be used for obtaining easements and for plan approval by the state. This would
allow for early bidding and construction in the spring.
