On October 7, 1982, we will make the final general revenue sharing q~arterly pay/ment to your government for Entitlement Period Thirteen (EP13). Period 13 b~.gan on October l, 1981 and ended on September 30, 1982. Revenue sharing pay- ~ents are made on the fifth working day following the end of the q~a~'ter to :.,~hieh they apply. Your payvnent will be made directly to a designated bank or other fi~:ancJ al institution if you have authorize~ us to do soj o~herwise, your governme~t's payment is in the form of a check which will be mailed on the date mentioned above. A few gover~tments will not receive a payment because of failure to return required forms or other reasons about which they have been notified directly. Discontinuance of Quarterly Pay Letters As part of the effort to reduce our expenditures, we will not send quarterly pay letters or no-pay letters to you during Entitlement Period Fourteen (EP!4: October 1, 1982 - September 30, 1983). EP14 is the final period authorized current legislation. Quarterly revenue sharing payments for the period will be made on the following dates: January ?, 1983 April 7, 1983 July 8, 1983 October 7, 1983 You may find it helpful to make notations of these dates on your calendar and in your revenue sharing records. I I I i I SOA's Due at ORS by September 30, 1982 Newly designed Statement of Assurances for Period 14 were mailed to all eligible recipient governments on August 13, 1982. Unlike the large, letter- sized package used in the past, the new S0A has been mailed in a small envelope, imprinted on the front with "STATEMENT OF ASSURANCES 14." It includes instruc- tions, assurances, the sta%us of your GRS account, and a form to be signed and returned in the envelope, which is part of the mailer. If you have not received this new form, please write to the letterhead address or call our Intergover~-~r~entsi Relations Division at (202) 634-5200 to request a reissue. As you know, the Chief Executive Officer must sign a Statement of A:surances Form on behalf of his/her government prior to receiving revenue sharing f~mds for any entit].ement period. Thus, the Chief Executive assumes responsibility for the recipient government's compliance v~ith the terms and conditions of the Revenue Sharing Act and regulations. I
