I
I
I
I

I

The City Personnel Committee directed that a proposed amendment to the
City's personnel code be prepared and submitted to the Council for their
action as discussed above for their regular meeting of July 27, 1982.

Case #2 City Employees Performing Part Time Work for Companies Involved
in Projects With the City of Ramsey:

The City Administrator pointed out to the Personnel Committee that the City
should also amend their code which would prohibit City employees to,work
part time for a company which is involved in projects in the City of Ramsey.

The following are examples:

1)

No City employee should work for a road contractor on a part'time
basis on a construction project which a contractor would be doing
in the City of Ramsey. It would not prohibit the employee from
working in another City on a part time basis.

2)

No police officer could be hired on a part time basis to perform
night watchman or police duties for a business in the City of
Ramsey without explicit permission from the City Cou~oil.

The City Personnel Committee agreed that the City's personnel ~rdinance .~
should be amended to reflect these types of changes to it and consequently
directed the City Administrator to have the proposed amendments ready for
the July 27, 1982 regular Council meeting for their review and action.

'Ihe meeting adjourned at 8:30 a.m.

Respectfully submitted,

I
I
I

Lloyd G.
