The brochure
will list the advantages of locating in R amsey and then focusing on indi-
vidual areas. It should help to eliminate some problems a realtor goes
through in locating a business in Ramsey.

The thr:ee main areas the brochure will cover are:

1) Finding a suitable client

2) Finding the client a suitable site

3) How the client will expand in his development

There was a general discussion on the types of businesses for Ramsey.

Commissioner Schmidt asked what types of business have we now? -

Commissioner Fults stated there are many small businesses. The list given
at the beginning of the Economic Development Committee did not give specific
businesses and what they area.

We need a brochure like Coon Rapids has that gives a profile on our City
with all pertinent information that would be of value to someone locating in
Ramsey.

Commissioner Schmidt asked about the list of non conforming uses that were
published in the paper.

Commissioner Menkveld stated he had received several calls regarding the
article.

A general discussion followed regarding business in Ramsey in regards to
the article. It was felt that if people were to be forced out of their
homes we have to have some place to put them.

An office/condo/warehousing in the Industrial Park would be extremely
helpful.

Commissioner Sentryz stated we should look at retail business coming in
out City. Do we want this? We have to have people come into Ramsey to
buy things. Public exposure is needed. We have to have land available
at a reasonable price that is easy to find. Ramsey needs retail business
for exposure.
EDC/June 9, 1982
Page 2
