I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I

CASE #2:

c)

Building Official Berg's letter dated August 16, 1979 - Mr. Lee
was informed that the driveway he was using on the service road
was illegal and in violation of the City Code.

Thirdly, Mr. Ed Fields has directed County Engineering Department not to
remove this newly constructed driveway off of County Road #56 which serves
Mr. Lee which is illegal according to City Code, as Mr. Lee's home fronts
152nd Avenue NW and he has a driveway off of it.

Council Action: Your action will be to either rescind your request of
May 25, 1982 which was to have the County remove the illegal driveway off
of Ramsey Blvd. which serves Mr. Duane Lee's residence as a second driveway,
or to request the County Board to carry out your request.

Technically speaking, the County Engineer's office should have referred our
letter to the total County Board at a regular or special meeting if they had
a problem with it. It definitely should not have been handled in the manner
it was handled by the County.

MR. LYLE ASK, MINNESOTA REVENUE DEPARTMENT, REGARDING GREEN ACRES LAW AS IT

I
!
I
I
I

CASE #3:

PERTAINS TO AGRICULTURAL LAND:

In response to the complaints received at the Board of Review in regards to
the farmland valuation increases that were under'the Green Acres Law, the
Council directed that the City Administrator invite the State out to review
the results of their law.

Accordingly, I contacted the Minnesota Department of'Revenue about your request
and a Mr. Lyle Ask will be coming out to the City of Ramsey at 9:30 a,m.,
Monday, June 14, 1982 to address %his issue. I will be notifying these farmers
that were present at the Board of Review.

Council Action: Council should call for a special Council meeting to be held
at 9:30 a.m., June 14, 1982.

MEETING WITH COMMISSIONER FIELDS ~ HIS STAFF REGARDING LANDFILL AND LEGISLATION:

Commissioner Fields has informed me that he will be able to meetS.with the

CASE #4:

Ramsey City Council at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 16, 1982 at the Ramsey
Municipal Center.

Council Action: You may want to call this a special Council meeting so that
you will be able to take action if you should desire. .~

CITY POLICY REGARDING ON USE OF LOWER LEVEL AT RAMSEY MUNICIPAL CENTER:

Council, at their meeting of May 25, 1982, adopted a City polity regarding
the use of the Municipal Center's lower level.

The policy that was adopted which is enclosed as (D2-c) states that regularly
scheduled groups will deposit with the City $25 and will be carried forward
unless it is used to defray clean-up costs. Occasional use Council set at $15.
However, it has been brought to the City Administrator's attention by Council~
members and citizens that there are certain civic groups (boy scouts, girl
