TO: FROM: RE: Mayor and City Councilmembers City Administrator Staff Report 1) Meetings - The following meetings have taken place since the last Council meeting: a) Economic Development Commission - The EDC had a special meeting on March 31, 1982 in regards to forming a Local Development Corporation. They did not make any recommendation to Council at that meeting. They did receive a lot of input on it however. They had their regular meeting for APril and they didn't take any action at this meeting due to the fact that Commissioner Schn~dt was not present and they would like to have him there when they discuss this issue as he heads up that subcommittee that deals with finance. They did have present at their April 14, 1982 meeting Mr. Charlie Weaver and he answered questions regarding the sanitary sewer second connection and the CAB intercep- tor. b) Landfill Meeting - City Attorney Goodrich and I attended this meeting at the Roosevelt Junior High School in Blaine. Also attending this meeting were Councilmembers Cox and Van Wagner and other Ramsey citizens. Bill and I got there late, however, and according to Councilmember Van Wager, Ramsey Council- people had addressed the public prior to our arrival. So I guess at this Council meeting, they can inform the Council on the landfill meeting better than I could. c) Meeting with Mr. A1 Bullick regarding proposed use of land for buffer zone and landfill - We (Al Bullick, Mayor Gamec and myself) met with one of the Assistant County Attornies and Mr. Hutchison regarding this. It appears to me that the County Administrator's office is not discussing any of this with the County Attorney's office or Mr. Hutchison~'s office, as everybody there was in the dark on this issue except Mr. Hutchison and he seemed to have a good grasp of it (first time). However, he kind of stated that nobody there was discussing it with him. Accordingly, it goes back to the meeting Councilman Cox, Commissioner Fields, Bill Goodrich and I had on April 7, 1982. We asked Mr. Fields at that time to have the County Staff get back to all the landowners and keep them informed as to what was going to happen to their land. ~e also asked that the City be kept informed but evidently this is not happening. Further, I think the City of Ramsey should be very concerned about how those lines are being drawn on that buffer zone. d) I will be attending a CAB meeting in Champlin at 2:00 p.m. on April 29, 1982. The purpose of this meeting will be to up-date CAB people on what is happening.
