I
I

COURTHOUSE

The ltonorable Tom Gamec
Mayor, City of Ramsey
15153 Nowthen Boulevard N.W.
Ramsey, Minnesota 55303

CO U NTY OF Alx!Ol(/u',

ANOKA, MINNESOTA 55303 612-421-4760
March 19, 1982

I
!

I
,I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I

Dear Mayor Gamec:

In order to comply with Equal Opportunity Regulations associated with
the County's CDBG Program, we must maintain records which indicate the
race, gender, and ethic background of those benefitting from each CDBG
project.

The effort required from the cities depends on the-nature of the project.
In the case of a senior center, we need to be informed by the city/township
of the area served by the center (we assume that seniors using the
center may come from surrounding communities). We will then use census
data to satisfy HUD requirements. Any actual "use" records you may keep
would also be helpful.

In the case of economic development projects, the enclosed form should
be forwarded to the industry which received the CDBG funding. The
company staff should be aware that the information they submit is open
to HUD review and that HUD has legal access to their records to verify
the data. Remember that economic development projects are eligible for
HUD funding onl~ if they generate employment for low/moderate income
residents.

Other projects may require information specific to that activity. If
so, we will contact you directly with the request.

If you should have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Sincerely yours,

JoAnn Wright
CDBG Coordinator

JW:sm
Enclosure

Affirmative Action / Equal Opportunity Employer
