The key to any progress so far - as it is on any issue in the political arena - has been
compromi'se; Nearly every legislator knows that change is necessary. That spirit
I must continue if any bill is to pass; however, no issue of public po]icy must be held
to be above compromise under our system. (This is stil~, a democracy.)
I The attempts of both labor and business to scuttle the bill (for their own, differing
reasons) presents the very real possibility that nothing will result 'from this session
i of the Legislature. The "all or nothing" attitude of both business and labor doe~ nothing
to hasten that reform. -

I am prepared to vote for major workers" compensation reform. But it is debate, .
I discussion, reason and the good of the public at large which ought to settle this issue;
not a "tough man" contest. - ~

! Thanks, again, for contacting me; let's keep i.,.n.J~n ~¢ and o. ther, issues.

I={ep,y ,o: [] 227 State Office Building, St..Paul, Minneso~$,55 / Office: (612)296-43§$
[-'1 I Cedar Point.
