Mr. Clayton Berg stated that some of the easement at?ropriations are for only <br />$6.00 or $7.00 and that he feels property owners would be more inclined to <br />stop in at City Hall and sign the easement if it were for some amount like <br />$25.o0. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cox and seconded by Councilmember Reimann to set a <br />$25.00 minimum on easement appropriation. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Van Wagner, Cox, <br />Sorteberg and Reimann. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />State Local Government Aid Mayor Gamec stated that the League of Small <br />Cities does not want to be involved in Ramsey's pending law suit and <br />further requested that Ramsey delay serving papers because changes have been <br />recommended and these changes will be made public after a hearing to be <br />held on January 27, 1982. He also stated that he then asked City Attorney <br />Goodrich to delay serving the papers until after January 27, 1982. <br /> <br />Councilmember Cox stated that at the last Council Meeting the City Attorney <br />was directed to proceed with the law suit and and that he would like to know <br />why the City Attorney held back action on the word of one councilmember. He <br />also stated that his experience with government has taught him that no drastic <br />change should be expected. We have tried'to go through the normal processes <br />and now we have to move ahead with our legal action. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec inquired as to Council's feelings on whether or not to proceed <br />with the law suit. <br /> <br />Council was in favor of proceeding with the law suit. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec advised City Attorney Goodrich to proceed with the law suit and <br />that he is comfortable with leaving his name on the legal documents. <br /> <br />Landfill - City Attorney Goodrich stated that he, Mayor Gamec and Councilmember <br />Cox met with Mayor and Attorney for City of Anoka and Landfill operators on <br />January 14, 1982. He stated they discussed a proposed contract between City <br />of Anoka and Ramsey for the future landfill ownership. The Anoka representa- <br />tives then took this information to the City Council on January 18, 1982 and <br />were instructed to draft a counter-proposal which will be presented to <br />Ramsey sometime during the second.week of February, 1982. We are continuing <br />to renegotiate with the City of Anoka concerning this subject and will <br />report back to the Council on future developments. <br /> <br />COUNCIL NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #1 Sign Permit, Request For; Case of Super Bowl, Inc.: <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Van Wagner and seconded by Councilmember Reimann to <br />approve Super Bowl's request to relocate their sign on Mr. Joe Sentryz' <br />property adjacent to T.H. #10. <br /> <br />Motion carried.
