Mayor Gamec polled Councilmembers for their opinions on the Local Development <br />Corporation. <br /> <br />Councilmember Sorteberg - In favor 100% <br />Councilmember Reimann - In favor of it <br />Councilmember Van Wagner - In favor of it <br />Councilmember Cox - In favor of it <br /> <br />Council advised Mr. Stephen Klein to meet with City Staff to prepare a <br />contract that will spell out just what responsibilities and costs will be <br />incurred to the City of Ramsey. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Reimann and seconded by Councilmember Cox to adopt <br />Resolution #82-7 regarding proposed uses for HUD monies. (Please refer <br />to resolution file for Resolution #82-7). <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Van Wagner, Cox, <br />Sorteberg and Reimann. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Mr. Klein informed Council that a public hearing will be held at City Hall <br />February 8, 1982 at 7:30 P.M. to select a steering committee for the Local <br />Development Corporation. <br /> <br />Mr. Klein then presented fiscal disparity data for taxes payable in 1982, <br />that he had obtained at the County offices. <br /> <br />Discussion ensued regarding fiscal disparity tax. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec suggested that a member of Burns business community be included <br />on Local Development Corporation Board of Members. <br /> <br />Case #6 Establishing Storm Sewer Assessment Rates: <br /> <br />Council tabled this case until the February Council Meeting. <br /> <br />Case #7 Legal <br /> <br />City Attorney Goodrich advised Council that they have two options regarding <br />obtaining of drainage easements. <br /> <br />1. Offer property owners more money. <br />2. Start condemnation. <br /> <br />Council advised City Attorney to proceed with condemnation. <br /> <br />City Attorney Goodrich informed Council that condemnation is a major undertaking <br />and there are about 25 parcels outstanding. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec replied that the drainage p~oblem has to be taken care of. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Sorteberg and s~conded by Councilmember Cox authorizing <br />City Attorney to proceed with condemnation process in order to obtain drainage <br />easements. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Van Wagner, Cox, <br />Sorteberg and Reimann. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />C/January 26, 1982 <br /> Page 7 <br /> <br /> <br />
