Therefore, we would request that you consider 167th Avenue between
IState Highway 47 and CoS.A.H. 5 and 153rd Avenue N.W. between State Highway 47 and
C.S.A.H. 5 as proposed projects for bikeway grant funds. Both 167th Avenue N.W.
and 153rd Avenue N.W. are subject to heavy bike traffic. 167th Avenue N.W. is a
lcollector street which provides access to a neighborhood convenience center located
at the intersection of State Highway 47 and 167th Avenue N.W. and 153rd Avenue N.W.
provides a corridor for bi'ke traffi'c from the east side of State Highway 47 to the
Ramsey Elementary School. Plans are also underway to construct a convenience grocery
Istore adjacent to City Hall which invariably will additional bike traffic
generate
on 153rd Avenue N.W.

IThe estimated costs of paving the shoulders along 167th Avenue N.W. and 153rd Avenue
N.W. are $36,250 and $21,250 respectively. The paving would consist of 1½" of
bituminous over a width of 10 feet on each side of the roadway as shown on the attached
lcross-section.

If you have any questions .or need additional information, please let me know.
~Yours truly,
CONSULTING ENGINEERS DIVERSIFI'ED, INC.

Peter R.
