In compliance with FEMA CPG 1-17 Outdoor Warning Systems Guide, ~irens shall <br />not produce sound pressure level greater than 123 db at ground level to prevent <br />hearing damage. Siren shall not produce potentially environmentally hazardous <br />ultrasonic signals. This must be certified by the manufacturer. Control unit must <br />provide reasonable lightning and surge protection devices on the power input to <br />protect the unit from electrical storms. <br /> <br />Ko <br /> <br />Siren speakers shall include adjustable mounting brackets for varying size poles; <br />and easily removable for speaker mounting on flat surfaces of roofs or buildings. <br /> <br />L. The siren speaker shall be pre-wired with a cable suitable for outdoor installations <br /> with or without conduit, capable of operating siren or any future options. <br /> <br />Prior to final acceptance, each unit supplied shall include equipment description, <br />specifications, physical and electrical installation, instructions and warranty. <br />Service instructions shall comply with best commercial practices; function and <br />purpose of equipment and special features; dimension, weight, performance <br />characteristics and power requirements. Manuals shall describe checkout <br />procedures; theory of operation explaining basic workings of circuits used; <br />maintenance procedures, schematics with printed circuit board layouts; component <br />diagrams and pads lists; wiring diagrams as a complete source of information in <br />order to easily follow, maintain and order replacement parts. <br /> <br />Bidder must supply three (3) sets of the aforementioned manuals, diagrams and <br />pads lists. Bidder must warranty the warning siren equipment for a period of two (2) <br />years or per manufacturer's specifications, which ever is longer, for any defects in <br />electrical or mechanical components. All items furnished must be new, firsthand, <br />completely assembled and installed within ninety (90) days of the acceptance of <br />the bid by the City of Ramsey City Council. <br /> <br />Bidders must be able to supply service and parts on eight (8) hour notice, five (5) <br />days a week at regular rates and have service available on weekends and holidays <br />at prevailing overtime rates on call from the Civil Defense Director. City must be <br />furnished with a 24 hour telephone number where a service technician can be <br />contacted. All bidders must provide a list of service organizations and locations as <br />pad of a bid. If for any reason a siren remains unrepaired (except through the fault <br />of the City), during the warranty of the siren, for more than 72 hours, the City <br />reserves the right to request a new siren be installed within 48 hours. Should the <br />contractor fail or neglect to make such repairs or replacement within five (5) days <br />from the date of the service of such notice, then the City shall have the right to <br />cause such repairs or replacement to be made in such a manner as the City may <br />deem best and the whole cost thereof shall be paid at the expense of the <br />contractor and his sureties. <br /> <br />Oo <br /> <br />The successful bidder shall be required to furnish the City with a performance bond <br />in the form required by law, in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of <br />the contract amount, based on the lump sum bid or the anticipated qualities and <br />unit prices, as determined by the City. <br /> <br /> <br />
