Peltzer <br />Addition. <br /> <br />PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #1 Seminar Report, Case of Commissioner Ben Deemer <br /> <br />Commissioner Deemer'informed Commission of highlights of <br />the U of M Continuing Education Center Seminar on Land Use <br />Planning Workshop on November 5, 1981. He stated that the <br />portion of the seminar dealing with legal issues involved in <br />planning and zoning was most interesting. <br /> <br />General discussion followed. <br /> <br />Case #2 Commission Resignation, Case of Mr. Harry Ellis <br /> <br />Motion by Chairman Peterson and seconded by Commissioner <br />Deemer to accept Mr. Ellis' resignation, further to request <br />City Council's approval to advertise and accept applications <br />for a replacement for Mr. Ellis, and further that a letter <br />of recognition be sent to Mr. Ellis from Planning and <br />Zoning Commission. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Votin§ Yes: ~hairman Peterson, Commissioners <br />Deemer, Zimmerman and Dunn. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Chairman Peterson stated that if any members on the Commission <br />know of a capable replacement for Mr. Ellis, to persuade <br />them to apply for the position. <br /> <br />Commissioner Deemer stated that there were two very good <br />applicants that were turned down last time there was an <br />opening on the Commission, that probably should be contacted. <br /> <br />Commissioner Dunn feels that p~rsuading persons to apply <br />for the position might be prejudging. <br /> <br />Chairman Peterson agrees and authorizes his comment revised <br />to indicate to merely inform capabl~ persons of the opening <br />position on the Planning and Zoning C~mmission. <br /> <br />P & Z/December 1, 1981 <br /> Page 2 <br /> <br /> <br />
