Con~nissJoner Dunn Rezoning of this area to B-1 should be tied down to <br />use as a golf course clubhouse only, in the event the plans for a <br />golf course fall through. I recommend zoning the golf course PUD. <br /> <br />Mr. Berg - I recommend the portion of property to be used for clubhouse <br />be zoned B-1. <br /> <br />Co~Junission would rather not zone any portion of the parcel B-1. <br /> <br />Mr. Bulen - I]ave been informed by Ed Fields that in situations like this, <br />you can go with zoning Recreational Open Space. <br /> <br />Art Bro~cn - Administrator/Coon Rapids Clinic - I oppose any commercial <br />business in the area in question, but I am in favor of PUD. <br /> <br />Mrs. Schneider- It does hurt the City to tie up land that does have a <br />potential for higher tax base. <br /> <br />Connnissioner Pxmn - Requests that Item #12 be added to the Findings of <br />Fact stating that rezoning to B-i, or any portion thereof, will reduce <br />the control the City has over that property. <br /> <br />Motion by Con~issioner Deemer, seconded by Conunissioner Schneider, to <br />approve the Findings of Fact regarding Wes Bulen's request to rezone <br />his property for a golf course with the addition of the following itenm: <br /> <br />#10 - Legal description of area to be rezoned B-1 <br /> <br />#11 - Proposed use will decrease the overall density of the area. <br /> <br />#12 - Rezoning to B-i, or any portion thereof, will reduce the control <br /> the City has over that property. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Peterson, Commissioners Dunn, <br />Zimmerman, Deemer, Ellis and Schneider. Voting No: None. <br /> <br /> Motion by Commissioner Deemer to recommend to City Council that they <br /> develop a PUD Agreement with Mr. Bulen with the purpose of using this <br /> parcel of property for golf course and related activity and whatever <br /> zoning is necessary to that end. Further Discussion: Commissioner <br /> Schneider feels Council should make special note of Item #12 listed in <br />. the Findings of Fact. Commissioner Dunn feels the wording "related <br /> activity" in Commissioner Deemer's motion, is too broad. Commissioner <br /> Deemer orders changing of "related activity" to read "clubhouse and <br /> coffee shop/lunch counter." Motion seconded by Commissioner Schneider. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Peterson, Commissioners Dunn, <br />Zimmerman, Deemer, Ellis and Schneider.
