TO: City Administrator

FROM: Street Superintendent

RE: Rubber Matting for Warming House

DATE: October 22, 1981

We have had numerous complaints on the type of matting we are now using
because the ends and sides curl up and people trip over them. They are
also getting cut up pretty bad. They should be replaced before someone
gets injured. I have prices on rubber matting that would lay better than
what we are now using. I am recommending the most expensive one from
Hamele Recreation because the individual tiles are 24" x 24" and they
lock together to make one solid piece for the entire floor. They are
reversible so if one side gets damaged, it can be turned over and used
on the other side. It is also the thickest at 3/8" as the others are
1/4". If anyone is interested in seeing this product in use, I would be
glad to show you at the City of Anoka.

Hamele Recreation Company, Inc.

3/8" x 24" x 24" Smooth surface locking tile - reversible - $1,998.00

Jiffy-Jr. Products

1/4 x 36" x 60" Ribbed surface spike proof - FOB Factory - $1,800.00

Specialty Sales

~" x 60" x 100' Scotia Flooring - $1,266.O0

I do not recommend the product from Specialty Sales because of the thick-
ness and the size of the pieces which would leave a lot of cracks in the
floor due to the floor slope to the center drain.

Jiffy-Jr Products would also leave cracks but not as many and is also
only ~" thick which I think is too light for skates.

MM:sb
