MEMBER TO MBER TOWLE NAMES LEASING AGENT FOR ST. PAUL BUSINESS CENTER Thc Towlc Real Estate Co. has been named exclusive leasing and managing agents for the St. Paul Business Center, an office/service warehouse building currently under construction at the intersection of Highway 35E and Rosclawn Avenue in Maplcwood, reported Curt Beireis, Vice President. The $3.1 million tax-exempt financing (via industrial revenue bonds) was arranged by the Towle Company with First National Rank of Minneapolis. Construction began in July on the ] ]0,000 square foot building, which will be ready for occup~mcy in January of 1982. NAIOP ANNUAL OUTING . . . AL BEISANG DIES Space Center, Inc. regretfully announced the death of Al Bcisang, Vice President of Facili- ties. Mr. Beisang was a native of Minneapolis. He finished his studies in Aero Engineering at the University of Minnesota in 1947 after having served with the U.S. Navy for three years during World War II. Beisang started with Space Center, Inc. in 1954, with the Terminal Transpo~*t Company and was subsequently transferred to the Facilities Division in 1968, where he was Vice President at the time of his death. ADOLFSON & PETERSON TO DESIGN AND BUILD OFFICE-WAREHOUSE PROJECT IN SOUTH DAKOTA Adolfson & Peterson, Inc., Minneapolis-based general contractor, has been selected to design and build one of the largest office-warehouse buildings ever constructed in South Dakota. The 358,000 square foot building will be the main distribution center for O.K. Hardware Stores of St. Paul, and will be constructed in Milbank, South Dako~. At a cost of $7 million, the new structure will include 350,000 square feet of warehouse space, 8,000 square feet of office space, and ~ll supply the needs of more than 500 O.K. Hardware S~res in nine sta~s. This project is the second larg~scale industrial building to be built in South Dakota by Adolfson & Peterson within the last two years. OUR LADY OF THE LAKE UNITED MORTGAGE EXPANDS AT EDINA BUSINESS CENTER United Mortgage Corporation, subsidiary of Mid- west Federal Savings and Loan Association, Min- neapolis, has completed expansion of its Edina-based mortgage loan origination facility. The rapidly growing mortgage banking firm has doubled its space in the Edina Business Center, a 32,000 square foot contemporary brick and glass office complex located at the intersection of County Road 18 and Highway 62, and developed by Cramcr-Wcir Co., Inc. of Edina. United Mortgage Corporation provides financing for buyers of residential rca] estate through homebuilders and development firms, including FHA, VA and conventional mortgages, as well as the new alternative mortgages, contracts for deed, and builder financing programs. for Litton Industries Microwave Cooking Products in Sioux Falls in 1979. The new O.K. Hardware project is expected to be completed in May of 1982. RYAN BEGINS CONSTRUCTION ON WALSER MAZDA SHOWROOM Construction has begun on new showroom facilities for Walser Mazda, dealer for Mazda automobiles in Richfield, according to Ryan Construction Co., designers, develop- ers, builders and design/build contractors for the project. The new facilities will be part of the Walser Buick-Mazda complex which is located on the north side of Interstate 494 just east of Penn Avenue South. Site of the new project is on property which formerly served a Shell service station on the northeast corner of Penn and 1-494. The present 1,706 square foot building will be remodeled and a 2,650 square foot structure will be added to provide more than 4,350 square feet of area. Construction on the project is planned for completion the first part of November, 1981.
