PAUL BUSINESS CENTER <br />Thc Towlc Real Estate Co. has been named exclusive <br />leasing and managing agents for the St. Paul Business <br />Center, an office/service warehouse building currently <br />under construction at the intersection of Highway 35E and <br />Rosclawn Avenue in Maplcwood, reported Curt Beireis, <br />Vice President. <br /> <br />The $3.1 million tax-exempt financing (via industrial <br />revenue bonds) was arranged by the Towle Company with <br />First National Rank of Minneapolis. Construction <br />began in July on the ] ]0,000 square foot building, which <br />will be ready for occup~mcy in January of 1982. <br /> <br />NAIOP ANNUAL OUTING . . . <br /> <br />AL BEISANG DIES <br />Space Center, Inc. regretfully announced the <br />death of Al Bcisang, Vice President of Facili- <br />ties. Mr. Beisang was a native of Minneapolis. He <br />finished his studies in Aero Engineering at the <br />University of Minnesota in 1947 after having <br />served with the U.S. Navy for three years during <br />World War II. <br />Beisang started with Space Center, Inc. in 1954, <br />with the Terminal Transpo~*t Company and was <br />subsequently transferred to the Facilities Division <br />in 1968, where he was Vice President at the time of <br />his death. <br /> <br />ADOLFSON & PETERSON TO <br />DESIGN AND BUILD <br />OFFICE-WAREHOUSE <br />PROJECT IN SOUTH DAKOTA <br /> <br />Adolfson & Peterson, Inc., Minneapolis-based general <br />contractor, has been selected to design and build one of the <br />largest office-warehouse buildings ever constructed in <br />South Dakota. The 358,000 square foot building will be the <br />main distribution center for O.K. Hardware Stores of <br />St. Paul, and will be constructed in Milbank, South <br /> <br />Dako~. At a cost of $7 million, the new structure will <br />include 350,000 square feet of warehouse space, 8,000 <br />square feet of office space, and ~ll supply the needs of <br />more than 500 O.K. Hardware S~res in nine sta~s. This <br />project is the second larg~scale industrial building to be <br />built in South Dakota by Adolfson & Peterson within the <br />last two years. OUR LADY OF THE LAKE <br /> <br />UNITED MORTGAGE EXPANDS AT <br />EDINA BUSINESS CENTER <br />United Mortgage Corporation, subsidiary of Mid- <br />west Federal Savings and Loan Association, Min- <br />neapolis, has completed expansion of its Edina-based <br />mortgage loan origination facility. The rapidly growing <br />mortgage banking firm has doubled its space in the Edina <br />Business Center, a 32,000 square foot contemporary <br />brick and glass office complex located at the intersection of <br />County Road 18 and Highway 62, and developed by <br />Cramcr-Wcir Co., Inc. of Edina. <br />United Mortgage Corporation provides financing for <br />buyers of residential rca] estate through homebuilders and <br />development firms, including FHA, VA and conventional <br />mortgages, as well as the new alternative mortgages, <br />contracts for deed, and builder financing programs. <br /> <br />for Litton Industries Microwave Cooking Products in <br />Sioux Falls in 1979. The new O.K. Hardware project is <br />expected to be completed in May of 1982. <br /> <br />RYAN BEGINS CONSTRUCTION <br />ON WALSER MAZDA SHOWROOM <br />Construction has begun on new showroom facilities for <br />Walser Mazda, dealer for Mazda automobiles in Richfield, <br />according to Ryan Construction Co., designers, develop- <br />ers, builders and design/build contractors for the project. <br /> <br />The new facilities will be part of the Walser Buick-Mazda <br />complex which is located on the north side of Interstate 494 <br />just east of Penn Avenue South. Site of the new project is on <br />property which formerly served a Shell service station on <br />the northeast corner of Penn and 1-494. The present 1,706 <br />square foot building will be remodeled and a 2,650 square <br />foot structure will be added to provide more than 4,350 <br />square feet of area. Construction on the project is planned <br />for completion the first part of November, 1981. <br /> <br /> <br />
