JOB DESCRIPTION <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> <br />POSITION: Deputy Clerk <br /> <br />DEPARTMENT: Office <br /> <br />DATE APPROVED: <br /> <br />OBJECTIVE AND SCOPE: <br /> <br />This is a supervisory position that requires highly qualified secretarial <br />skills with a good working knowledge of City policies, City Ordinances <br />and certain State Statutes. This position is required to perform with <br />minimal supervision. <br /> <br />RELATIONSHIPS: <br /> <br />Reports to: City Administrator <br /> <br />Has supervisory responsibility. Provides work direction to administrative <br />clerical personnel as required (excluding Police Department clerical per- <br />sonnel). <br /> <br />SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITY: <br /> <br />l) Types from copy, general instruction, and oral or machine dictation a <br />variety of reports, contracts, letters, ordinances, minutes and other docu- <br />ments; composes and writes letters in the name of a superior, drafts reso- <br />lutions for various public improvements, compiles charts, graphs, agendas, <br />and reports; attends meetings and takes minutes (meetings held during normal <br />working hours only). <br /> <br />2) Attends public at counter or as receptionists; interviews, screens, and <br />refers callers, answers inquiries personally, providing information on de- ' <br />partment services and functions. <br /> <br />3) May perform certain accounting duties in absence of the Chief Accountant <br /> (as set up by special instructions to be established by the Administrator). <br /> <br />4) Enters data when necessary on the City terminal pertaining to payroll <br />and monthly bills. <br /> <br />5) Maintains records pertaining to the billing out of fire calls and the <br />receiving of payments for same. <br /> <br />6) Makes weekly bank deposits for the City. <br /> <br /> <br />
