Gotham

Mr. Lloyd Schnelle
City of Ramsey
%5153 Nowthen Boulevard
Ramsey, Minnesota 55303

September 18,

Dear Lloyd,

After receiving your letter concerning the mowing of weeds on
Lot 6 Block 2 Sandy Acres Estates, I have given much thought
to the City Ordinance concerning the mowing of weeds, and
also what would be an appropriate use of that lot.

I feel quite strongly that in a rural community such as R~msey
the enforcement of the ordinance to mow vacant 10.~s is against
what rural life is all about. (Besides, the lot in question does
not have noxious weeds.) However, I feel more strongly that
if the Cigy wishes to enforce such an ordinance, it should
not be done on a complaint basis only. To enforce this ordinance
fairly, each and every lot should be mowed, and if not mowed by
the owner, it should be mowed by the City and assessed to the
property. This is the fair way, but I do not advocate it.

I also feel that the lot in question, although it is deemed
to be a buildable lot, has its liabilities as far as erecting a
home on it. In so far as the City has no neighborhood park
land in that area~ I would be willing to donate that lot to
the City for that purpose.

Please advise me as to what the City's wishes are concerning
donation of the lot.

Yours truly,

Gary M.~Gorham
