I I I I PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION Regular Meeting of August 20, 1981 Members Present: Janice Johnson, Terry McLean, Ron Hetland, John Lichter Others Present: Tom Gamec, Mayor The meeting was called to order at 7:08 P.M. The minutes of the July 16, 1981 regular meeting were approved after a motion by Lichter, seconded by McLean. The Commission requested the City Administrator to send a copy of the comprehensive park plan to new commission member Ron Hetland. Mayor Gamec discussed budget proposals for 1982 and distributed a summary of the park and recreation budget. He stated that .the commission should prioritize 1982 budget needs (outlays) and finaliz~ our position by the regular meeting in September. Motions were made by McLean~ seconded by Johnson and approved to obstain cost estimates for: 1) expansion of the ice rink warming house by 50% 2) lighting for the tennis courts and soccer field at Titterud Park 3) lighting for the soccer field at the Ramsey Elementary School Mayor Gamec noted that the Metro Council may provide some funding for park improvement. After some discussion about remaining capital improvement monies in the 1981 budget, a motion was made by Lichter, seconded by Johnson and approved to light the soccer fields and tennis courts if the 1981 funds could cover the costs. (This expenditure of course would need to be approved by the Council). A question came up regarding Bill Goodrich's letter concerning the city code. Mayor Gamec suggested the commission review the park fee structure. The meeting was adjourned at 8:38 P.M. Respectfully submitted, John Lichter Secretary
