ACTION:

Mayor Gamec said that this case will come under the review of
commercial properties meeting on May 22, 1980 at 7:30 p.m.
because it is the commercial values that are causing the problem here.

Mrs. Jim Graves, 15041 Juniper Ridge Dr., Plat #91300, Parcel #300
Mrs. Graves said they had a market analysis done on their home by a local realtor
and the market value is"$89,600 and.her estimated market value is $90,000.
She questioned how the estimated market value was computed.

Councilman Cox said the assessors are trying to get the estimates close to the
real market values.

Mayor Gamec said there is a set square footage on each parcel they go by.

Assessor Wirz went over the figures on her property with her.

ACTION: No board action.'

Mr. John Mueller, 14633 Bowers Drive, Plate #89230, Parcel #2110 & 2120
Mr. Mueller questioned the comparative value and tax on his two empty lots
which are side by side. The estimated market value on one is $1000 more
than on the other and the tax on the higher one is 100% greater. He said he
felt it to be questionable that the taxes are 100% greater.

Assessor Wirz said the one lot is a homestead and the other is not.

Mr. Mueller explained he was talking about the gross tax.

County Assessor Weisbrich said the gross taxes are derived from homestead and
non-homestead classifications.

Assessor Wirz said he determined estimated market value and because one parcel
joined his property and other other one didn't, he gave him a break on the one
that joined his property.

Mr. Mueller asked that the other lot be reduced also since it also joins his
property.

Assessor Wirz said he would consider lowering it for this year but not for last
year.

Much discussion ensued on questions regarding these two lots.

ACTION:

To reduce Plat 89320, Parcel 2110 value from $6000 to $5000 because
it is adjacent to the other lot and a homestead lot.

Mr. Ben Deemer, 14542 Nowthen Blvd. N.W., Plat #89225, Parcel #3980
Mr. Deemer questioned the increase in estimated market value from $62,800
to $73,000. He said he didn't feel the house was worth that price because
the roof needs to be replaced. He said he wouldn't argue with that assessment
after he gets the roof redone.

Mayor Gamec told Mr. Deemer that since he paid $64,000 for the property
in 1978 and the valuation is now $73,000, it is the same 13% increase which
everyone else received.

BOARD OF REVIEW
May 12, 1980
Page 3
