Application for FCC license taken care of by vendor. <br /> <br />Mr. Fjerstad suggests that the City request membership in the Mutual Aid <br />Association prior to terminating contracts with Anoka and Elk River. <br /> <br />Mr. Fjerstad has worked with the Motorolla and strongly recommends this model. <br />Mr. Bawden inquired as to the lead time in receiving communications equipment. <br /> <br />Mr. Cordie indicated that the order would be shipped directly from the factory, <br />lead time is approximately 60 days. <br /> <br />Mr. Hartley inquired about battery replacement, price, and life. Mr. Hartley <br />also suggests preparing specifications for communications equipment and <br />receiving two more proposals. <br /> <br />Motion by Mr. Breu and seconded by Mr. Pearson to table this case. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting yes: Mr. Breu, Mr. Pearson, Mr. Bawden, Mr. Rustad, <br />Cordie, and Hartley. Voting no: None. Absent: Mr. Auspos. <br /> <br />Case ~2: Update from Vehicle Committee on Specifications for Pumper and <br /> ~an~er: <br /> <br />Mr. Rustad reported on behalf of the Vehicle Committee. He stated that the <br />specifications for the slide-in unit, tanker, and pumper have been completed. <br /> <br />Slide-in unit - 200 gallon water tank, 11 horse power gas engine, includes <br />lettering and paint. No estimate on cost. <br /> <br />Tanker -].850 gallon tanker, 475 gallon per minute power take-off pump, two <br />wheel drive. Handles 2-1/2 inch hose lines. <br /> <br />Pumper - carries 1000 gallons of water, 1250 gallons/minute mid-ship pump, <br />6500 watt gasoline generator. Diesel powered. Suggests that hoses and nozzles <br />be purchsaed separately. <br /> <br />Mr. Bawden asked if these were non-proprietary specifications. <br /> <br />Mr. Rusted stated that specifications were made based on repair service and <br />parts available locally. He also stated that Anoka and Elk River use the same <br />pumper. <br /> <br />Mr. Rustad requested that Mr. Hartley review specifications prior to Council <br />rev Jew. <br /> <br />Motion by Mr. Rustad and seconded by Mr. Cordie to recommend specifications for <br />slide-in unit, tanker, and pumper be submitted to Council for approval and to <br />request permission from Council to advertise for bids. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting yes: Mr. Rustad, Mr. Cordie, Mr. Bawden, Mr. Pearson, <br />Mr. Breu, and Mr. Hartley. Voting no: None.
