Mr. Cordie stated that if a grass-rig was donated would the City be expected to <br />respond to fires within a 30 mile radius if requested. <br /> <br />Mr. Axt asked if he should pursue at this time. <br /> <br />Mr. Bawden asked what the disadvantages of receiving a donated grass rig would <br />be. <br /> <br />Mr. Breu stated that it would be the City's responsibility to maintain and <br />repair the vehicle. <br /> <br />Mr. Bawden suggested that we hold o~f for a year. <br /> <br />Motion by Mr. Breu and seconded by Mr. Pearson to discuss the subject at a <br />later date when the department is fully organized. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting yes: Mr. Breu, Mr. Pearson, Mr. Bawden, Mr. Rustad, <br />Mr. Cordie, and Mr. Hartley. Voting no: None. Absent: Mr. Auspos. <br /> <br />Case #4: Request from Department to Purchase a 35mm Camera: <br /> <br />Mr. Axt stated that the fire department should have a camera to start <br />establishing a portfolio. When the department starts responding to fire calls, <br />this will be a necessity. <br /> <br />Mr. Rustad stated that he may be able to obtain one through a donation. <br /> <br />This case was tabled until the next meeting. <br /> <br />Case ~5: Request from Deoartment to Discuss Uniforms/Jackets for Member~: <br /> <br />Mr. Fjerstad reported that members were interested in obtaining uniforms and/or <br />jackets. The approximate cost of a uniform would be $100.00/person. <br /> <br />Mr. Bawden suggested that a representative from the department contact the <br />Ramsey Lions Association. The president is Mr. Lee Lundberg. <br /> <br />Motion by Mr. Breu and seconded by Mr. Cordie to table this case. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting yes: Mr. Breu, Mr. Cordie, Mr. Bawden, Mr. Pearson, <br />Mr. Rustad, and Mr. Hartley. Voting no: None. Absent: Mr. Auspos. <br /> <br />Case ~6: Update from Turn-Out Gear Committee for Purchase of Breathin~ <br /> <br />Mr. Breu reported that Mr. Eugene Workman (member) had attended the Fire <br />Convention and had received two proposals for breathing apparatus. The <br />Committee has not started working on specifications. He stated that the <br />members fee]. strongly about having their own breathing mask. <br /> <br />Mr. Rustad inquired if mask and bottles/backpacks are inter-changable. <br /> <br />Mr. Breu stated that they were. <br /> <br />Further discussion on the number needed.
